Observations of Small Town Living (OOSTL)

While visiting Portland, Oregun (yes, I put a “u” in it so you know how to say it to the natives who will berate you if you say Oregon “uncorrectly”), I observed something for the first time — “apartment dogs”. Never noticed this growing up. But the closer you go to a city the smaller the dogs seem to get. In the downtown Oregon park, there were many people walking dogs that are the equivilent of a compact car. Here a shot of a couple walking a poodle that wasn’t much larger than a guinea pig.

In the rural area where we live, these creatures would be bate for mountain lions, coyottes, wolves, foxes, black & grizzly bears, bob cats, and very like some other carnivore that I’d forgotten.
