After reviewing the original back ground that I’d drawn, I realized it needed a lot of work. So, I submit this without a back ground for now. It turns out that he wings of this creature are much more complex than some blotches as I first thought when I selected it. The flowers are “supposed to be” fuzzy, but I haven’t figured out a technique for this (yet). Still practicing.
I had the presence of mind to take a few snapshots of the process of creating this image. Starting with the photo. (click to enlarge). This was really fun because it gave me the “illusion” that I was spending time with my cat. As if that’ll ever happen. My tablet computer has reduced 30 lbs of art supplies down to about a pound.
There’s a wonderful garden near our local hospital that has the cutest little building that one can visit while pondering important things. I’ve always liked it. My recent efforts to illustrate it on my tablet were disappointing so I thought I’d try again. I’ve included the original photograph for the purpose of comparison. If you’re like me, you’ll see the mistakes and lack of realism. If you’re like my mom, it’ll be perfect and use words like “artistic license”. Thanks Mom!
I don’t know where the sixth turkey has gone off to but I haven’t seen her in about a week. We assume she’s gone to camp (the preverbial place where turkeys go to have fun). So, with only 5 of them, they are now the Fives. I’m not sure if I want to hand feed them but they are as close as my feet.
I’m still practicing drawing on my tablet. This one turned out nice enough that I think we’ll be using it for our Christmas Cards. Originally this was a photo from our yard.
Today marks the end of an era. We’ve been here long enough (7 years) that the state is replacing our license plates. Call me sentimental, but these were the first non-Illinois license plates we’ve had since we began driving.
Finger painting on my tablet. It’s a flower. I have to state this because many folks didn’t realize my last image was a calf (mistaking it for a deer, goat, hedgehog, etc.). Clearly, this stuff requires practice.

I’ve been so inspired by paintings by my mom and my sister. Two very talented artists. I can only aspire to their level. Using the medium of my tablet, I thought I’d take a crack at some painting myself. Here’s one of my first efforts. Yes, I have a long way to go.
Below is a little video that I’d been wanting to do for years. Finally have a camera that can do time lapse photography. If your browser can’t view it, just click this link to download it.
